Meet your therapist

Kristen Nassif, M.A., LMFT

Kristen completed her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC) and holds two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Creative Writing from Pepperdine University.

Before beginning her practice, she spent time writing and publishing a pre-marital counseling workbook, that is currently used by Pepperdine University. From there she worked, in Beverly Hills, doing long term psychotherapy and training in Jungian and Psychodynamic theory. She has worked extensively with individuals, couples, families and teens on issues related to relationships, attachment, conflict, communication, divorce, anxiety, depression, trauma and identity.

For the first five years of her career, Kristen worked in and was director of several substance abuse treatment centers. This has given her considerable knowledge and experience regarding  trauma, substance abuse and behavioral addictions. Kristen utilizes theories including Family-Systems, CBT, Narrative Psychology and Psychodynamic theory. She believes that it’s often necessary to work within her client’s pasts, in order to assist them in finding the root of their issues and not simply masking the symptoms. Kristen utilizes her expansive knowledge on psychological theory to work with her clients in finding a therapeutic approach that is well suited to each and every one of their individual needs.
